Fostering cooperation and finding synergies

SIENNA's Coordinator Philip Brey and Deputy Coordinator Rowena Rodrigues represented the SIENNA project at the European Cluster Event on ‘Research Ethics and Research Integrity Projects’, organised by the European Commission in Brussels on 1 June 2018.
Other participating projects included: PRINTEGER, VIRT2UE, ENERI, DEFORM, PRO-RES, TRUST, I-CONSENT, SHERPA, PANELFIT, AND ENTIRE.
Peter van der Zandt, Head of Unit B5 - Spreading Excellence, Widening Participation, Science with and for Society – Research Executive Agency (REA), in his welcome address outlined the role of the REA and reiterated the message to all project participants: to perform, inform, maximise impact, cooperate and disseminate.
Isidoros Karatzas, Head of the Ethics and Research Integrity Sector, DG Research and Innovation, stressed the importance of creation of an European community in research ethics and integrity and breaking barriers by cross-project discussions.
The projects met in sub-clusters to discuss cross-cutting issues, mutual collaboration opportunities and draft cooperation plans.
